On May 20, Pack 39 of Liberty and Montville held its Crossover to Boy Scouts ceremony. Cub Scouts Sean Moore, Riley Boulay and Jack Valleau crossed the bridge from Webelos into Boy Scouts at the Masonic Hall in Liberty. They have also completed all requirements for Arrow of Light, which is the highest rank that can be achieved by a Cub Scout.

Riley worked hard to complete the two levels of Webelos in one year. Sean has been a Scout for four years, and Jack started five years ago as a Tiger. Boy Scout Troop 77 took an active part in the ceremony, welcoming them to the troop.

Highlights of the year were guests Martha Piscuskus for art, Luke Boulay for electrical engineering, Johann Emery at Walker School for publishing and Lynn Barboza of the Red Cross for first aid. Trips included the Davistown Museum, Liberty Fire Department with Chief Bill Gillespie, and the Waldo County YMCA for swimming loops and pins with Aquanaut instructor Justin.

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. To join as a scout or leader, contact Cubmaster Kate Valleau at 322-7634.
