The Skye Theatre will present traditional Irish music band Comas Thursday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts, 42 Depot St. Tickets are $15, available at the door or by calling 948-7469.

For almost 10 years, Comas have been together as a band; before that, band members toured individually with such top acts as The Drovers, Orion, Eileen Ivers, Urbantrad, Denez Prigent and the internationally acclaimed Liz Carroll. Although coming from diverse musical backgrounds, and residing in different parts of the globe, they found each other via a similar approach to music, bringing together their many cultural influences to forge a unique blend of traditional Irish music that had them, within months of coming together, playing in major festivals all around Europe

The band has a driving power coupled with a fine sensitivity for the inner strands of magic inherent in Irish music. The ensemble features fiddle player Aidan Burke; Isaac Alderson on flutes and pipes; guitarist Philip Masure; and Jackie Moran on percussion.
