The BelfastARTS Friday Gallery Walk continue July 13 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. More than 20 art venues invite everyone to enjoy leisurely visits through the intimacy of their downtown galleries, showcasing a wide variety of work —painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media and jewelry.

Venues for opening receptions on this night include Galerie Dufour, Beyond the Sea, Art Alliance Gallery (AAG) and Maine Farmland Trust, which is opening “Listening to the Land,” a show of watercolors, pastels and oil paintings by the Maine Master Joseph A. Fiore (1925 to 2008).

The balance of the city’s studios and galleries also will welcome visitors to their art spaces including Betts Gallery at the Belfast Framer, Åarhus Gallery, Waterfall Arts, Belfast Coop Cafe Gallery, Marc Leavitt Studio, High Street Studio & Gallery, 75 Main Street Studio, Brambles, Raven’s Nest Gallery, Northern Lights Gallery, Lauren Veale Jewelry Studio, Image Box Photos, Parent Gallery, 960 Studio, Dina Petrillo at The Post Office Studio Workshop and Susan A. Cooney Fine Art Studio.

Performing in the streets will be dancer Maho Hisakawa of Lincolnville, whose love of West African dance was ignited in 1999 and has continued to manifest in performances with Djump! and other choreographed dances. And Scot Cannon will play his acoustic versions of jazz and pop standards, as well as his collection of mildly sarcastic and sometimes moving original songs.

The walks take every Friday in July and August and first Fridays the rest of the year. For more information on all participating galleries, openings and special events, visit
