Galerie Dufour, 94 Main St., will host an opening reception for an exhibition of new photographic works by Charles Laurier Dufour Friday, July 13 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The theme this month focuses on transition: the characters in “Portals” are photographed in or around doorways, windows, passageways, etc., symbolizing recent or impending change.

In addition to the “Portals” exhibition on Galerie Dufour’s red wall, visitors will find images of beach stones, convoluted tree bark, pylons in Belfast harbor and numerous natural fine art nudes. A number of images the previous exhibit, “Sticks,” will be scattered among the new artwork on the other gallery walls.

“Portals” will be on exhibit until Aug. 9. Galerie Dufour is closed on Tuesdays in July, open the rest of the week including to 8 p.m. every Friday. For specific times, call 338-6448 or send email to
