On July 9 and 10, Hammers and Halos, a mission group of youth and adults from Connecticut, transformed The Game Loft, Belfast’s downtown after-school center. Eight youth and three adults worked with local community members to build a recycling shed, remodel the kitchen, create a new game room and make other major repairs to the facility at 78 Main St. The Game Loft is an after-school program serving youth from the ages of 6 to 18. The program is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 50 weeks a year from 2 to 6 p.m. and in Unity on Wednesdays. The Game Loft is a community-based organization of Spurwink Services.
