Friday through Sunday, Aug. 3 through 5, the Cushing Historical Society’s Arts in the Barn exhibition series will feature oil paintings by Ann Stein-Aaron and wood sculptures by Vic Goldsmith. The public is invited to an opening reception Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.; the show will continue Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the barn on Hathorn Point Road. For more information, call 354-0735.

Stein-Aaron has exhibited her paintings in galleries throughout Maine from 1989 until 2004, when she stepped away from the gallery scene. This exhibit is a rare occasion to view her portraits, landscapes from several earlier series; and her more recent paintings.

Goldsmith has exhibited his sculptures in local galleries since 2005. His abstract wood works combine the sensuousness of finished hardwoods with painted and stained elements to express musical rhythms through nature’s myriad natural forms.
