On Thursday, Aug. 9, Senior College at Belfast will offer a lively day-long seminar titled Elvis — Then, Now, and Forever! Presented by rock ‘n’ roll scholar and aficionado Neal Harkness, the class will explain how a poor boy from Mississippi became the most famous performer in the world and changed the direction of popular music for all time.

Those who spend the day with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll will learn some new details about his personal life, see clips from his live performances and hear excerpts from his hits as never before, thanks to the extraordinary sound system of the University of Maine’s Hutchinson Center auditorium. The seminar will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and is open to the general public. The $30 registration fee includes lunch and refreshments.
