On Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 10 and 11, the Searsport Historical Society offers an opportunity to view pottery figures from a private collection at the society’s headquarters on Sears Island Road. Admission is free.

The special exhibit features Staffordshire portrait figures, comforter dogs and pastille burners of the 19th century. These items were produced in the Staffordshire region of England from the 1830s through the turn of the century.
