On Saturday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Belfast Co-op will hold its eighth Annual Customer Appreciation Day. There will be free live music, free massages and health coaching, a natural foods cooking demonstration, vendors with free samples, a cook-out with burgers and dogs, including vegetarian options, Co-op sausages, chicken wings and watermelon for sale.

Live music will entertain throughout the day. This year’s lineup is: The Gawler Family at 10:30 a.m., Belfast Bay Fiddlers at 11:45 a.m., The Willy Kelly Band at 1 p.m., Odlaw at 2:15 p.m., Juke Rockets at 3:30 p.m. and The Hips at 4:45 p.m.. Between music sets, door prizes will be announced for lucky winners.

The following local alternative health care practitioners will host a health fair offering free mini-consultations: Deborah Keene of Ayurvedics and Yoga; Kerri Vacher of Naturopathics; Pam McKeen of Natural Foods Chef.

Many local vendors will be providing free samples, including Maine Root, Stone Fox Farm Creamery, Grandy Oats, Pastor Chuck Orchards, Borealis Breads, Bagel Mainea, Let Them Eat Cake, The Sweetest Things, Seasoned Chef, Wicked Joe, Seacoast Coffee, Peirce Bros. Coffee Roasters, Casco Bay Soap Co., Ruby Moon, Gracefully Clean and more!

There will be a fundraising book sale, gift basket raffles, and a 50/50 raffle ­with all proceeds donated to local nonprofits. Last year these activities raised $1,200. This year’s recipients are Avian Haven, Hospice Volunteers of Waldo County, Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, New Hope for Women and Our Town Belfast.

Village Farm of Freedom will be selling MOFGA-certified organic produce again this year; it’ll be set up near the store entrance.

P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center (previously named the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League) and the Humane Society of Knox County will also be present, bringing along a few companion animals seeking homes.

Lastly, the American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be set up on High Street holding a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
