The Monday Night Blues series continues Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. with Marquise Knox at the Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. Admission will be $10.

Knox will be coming to town after three days of performing in the dance pavilion of the American Folk Festival in Bangor (americanfolkfestival.com), so the St. Louis musician will be ready for an intimate club show — and it will be intimate, as dancers jostle for space in response to his throwback blues. Just 21, Marquise already has toured Europe, played major festivals across America and recorded three albums. His latest, “Here I Am,” was nominated by STL Bluesweek for Recording of the Year.

There will be no show on Labor Day. Upcoming in the weekly series are: Sept. 10, Kirsten Thien ($10); and Sept. 17, Rev Raven & The Chain Smoking Altar Boys ($10). For more information, visit the Time Out Pub Blues link at northatlanticbluesfestival.com.
