Planning is currently underway for RIDE (Reliable Information about Diabetes Education). There will be three bike rides to promote awareness of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, to encourage exercise and to raise awareness of the importance of eating healthy and staying active.

RIDE will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Education Center at the hospital. The advanced ride, which is approximately 25 miles, will start at 9:30 a.m. Bikers will head down Route l to Lincolnville Beach and then back, taking a side route into Bayside.

The beginner ride is around five miles and will go through some shady neighborhoods, down to the footbridge and then back along the waterfront. It starts at 9:45 a.m.

The Family Fun Ride is approximately one mile and is in the area of the hospital and Diabetes Education office on Northport Ave.
