Spurwink and The Game Loft are pleased to announce the next phase of a community-based partnership that began in 2009. Effective Oct. 1, The Game Loft will begin operating as a stand-alone entity, retaining its name.

Since both groups serve the needs of youth, Spurwink and The Game Loft will continue working together through collaborations and cooperation to ensure that young people in Waldo County continue to receive the best possible prevention services.

“Spurwink has furthered its mission by providing administrative and financial support to The Game Loft and the community,” said Dawn Stiles, president of Spurwink. “They do amazing work and we wish them continued success with their important mission. We look forward to collaborating with The Game Loft going forward.”

Patricia Estabrook, who co-founded The Game Loft in 1998 with her husband, Ray, said that the current economic landscape requires new ways of serving kids.

“The Game Loft will continue serving youth between the ages of six and 18 in Belfast four days a week,” Estabrook added. “We will also serve the youth of Unity one day per week.”
