“Koch Brothers Exposed,” the newest film from Robert Greenwald and Brave New Films, will be shown Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. A discussion will follow the film. The evening is sponsored by the Peace and Justice Group of Waldo County.

Just in time for the November elections, this film documents how two billionaire brothers, David and Charles Koch, have been buying influence in Congress and state legislatures to promote their own views of how the country should be run. As the film demonstrates, the Koch brothers attempt to mold public policy and find legislators who support their agenda — leaving the majority of the people in the United States without adequate representation.

Inequity is becoming more and more a part of daily life, with a few having enormous wealth while more and more U.S .residents have to scrape by or suffer from a failing safety net. The film explore this phenomenon and also looks at the effects of Koch Industries factories on the people and environment in small towns.

The showing of “Koch Brothers Exposed” is free and open to the public, with donations accepted. For more information, call 525-7776.
