Belfast Community Television is offering a new program entitled, "Senior College in Action."

In September, BCTV-2 will give its viewers the opportunity to see a stimulating and informative lecture offered earlier this year by Senior College at Belfast. The presentation is given by prominent Camden architect Christopher Glass, former chairman of the Maine Preservation Commission and instructor at Bowdoin College.

This particular lecture is one of several he gave last spring in a course titled “Church Architecture — From the Middle Ages to the Coast of Maine,” and focuses on the Baroque period with stunning visuals, interesting facts and entertaining anecdotes. Chris Glass helps us understand how the principles developed in such architectural monuments as St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome have influenced structures of all kinds up to the present day.

"We are thrilled to have Senior College providing locally produced and interesting programming for the Belfast Community" said Ned Lightner, program director for Belfast Community TV. "We hope this will be the first of many programs that Senior College will be sharing with the community."

The program may be seen Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 8 p.m. and on Sundays, Sept. 9,16 and 23 at 4:30 p.m. on Belfast Community TV Channel 2.
