The Chinese Auction that was postponed due to the weather has been revamped slightly and rescheduled for the weekend of Sept. 29 and 30 at the fire house on Route 220 in Montville. The plan is to have the majority of items in the Chinese auction with a few more valuable items done in a silent auction format. We will open the auction on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 30, we will open again at 3 p.m. for folks who cannot come on Saturday. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs and soda available both days. We expect to start the drawings for the Chinese auction at about 5:30 p.m. followed by the closing of the silent auction, at which time those winners will be announced. We will gladly still accept items for the auction. Please contact Karen York at 382-3077 or at with any questions or donations.

We would like to remind everyone of the Montville Historical Society Frye Mountain Tours that are taking place again this year on the 30th of September. For more information and to sign up, call Barbara Boulay at 589-4414. Please stop by the firehouse after the tour to peruse our Chinese and Silent Auction items. There will be food and drinks available while you wait for the drawings to commence. The Montville Volunteer Fire Department wishes to thank all our sponsors and volunteers who contributed so much to making our fund-raising event possible.
