Raven’s Nest Gallery, 65 Main St., will open its “North Meets South” show Friday, Oct. 5., when the downtown gallery will be open its First Friday hours of 2 to 8 p.m.

The show offers a compelling collection of work by southern artists Kelly Moore (New Mexico), John “Cornbread” Anderson (Georgia) and Billy Roper (Georgia). The self-taught Outsider Art ethic reflected in this work reveals a distinctive perception. Along with works by Maine artists Robert Miller (Beals Island), Keith Schneider (Liberty) and Jude Nickerson (Swanville), North and South come together.

Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days. For more information, call 505-2659.
