Waterfall Arts, 256 High St., has scheduled new workshops and classes designed for adults. Artist Abbie Read will lead a series of Saturday workshops, beginning with paste paper painting on Oct. 13. Read will teach techniques to make a clamshell box on Nov. 3 and simple bookbinding on Dec. 8. Read, whose mixed media work has been exhibited throughout Maine and New England, has been making artist books for a number of years.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, Sandi Cirillo will lead a hands-on workshop in shibori, the Japanese resist method of creating designs on silk. Cirillo is an experienced instructor.

Potter Bill Davis will teach an eight-week pottery class for adults and those older than 15 beginning Thursday, Oct. 18 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In this class, he will focus on wheel work, slab building and hand building. All skill levels are welcome.
