Everyone is invited to learn to play the ukulele and have a cookie or two Saturday, Oct. 27 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at The Playhouse, 107 Church St. This benefit performance and activity is especially suited to families and children.

Frets Halligan has been playing and teaching ukulele to folks of all ages privately and in groups for many years, most recently in the Belfast area. He is doing his part to show that the ukulele, once seen mostly as a novelty, is capable of playing most anything while still being fun.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own instruments or can play one of Halligan's collection. Suggested donation is $5. Space is limited, so call 338-5777 for reservations.
