Winterport Open Stage will present the Maine premiere of “The Man from Planet 52,” a sci-fi spoof for the whole family, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. at the Samuel L. Wagner Middle School, 54 Mountainview Drive.

Tickets at the door will be $8, $5 for students and senior citizens. There will be a $1 for those who come dressed as zombies and join the cast on stage during the show’s zombie party scene.

Directed by Jeri Misler, “The Man from Planet 52” takes place in the desert town of Mirabelle, N.M., where two teenage siblings find a spaceship with an alien on board. Befriending the alien, the three join forces to bring down the evil Zontar, whose oversized brain is working to gain control over all Earthlings. Can they save Zombie Mom and escape the Shag Carpet Monster? With help from the local science teacher, the troupe battles the monsters, two nasty Charmin sisters and find some hidden surprises along the way.

The identity of the actor playing the title role is a well-guarded secret which can only be revealed the actual days of performance. Other cast members include Greg Littlefield and Andrea Littlefield as the evil Zontar and his yes man, Sheriff Wopner. The alien spacedog will be played by Cassy Palmer. They will be joined by actors Mikayla Burridge, Packy Harrison, Sarah Littlefield, Tien Misler, Amanda Pomeroy, Anne Tatgenhorst, Jim Tatgenhorst, Jane Towne and Kyle Ward. Set design is by Jason Champion and lights by Alan Wardwell.

Tickets will be available at the door an hour before each performance. For more information: check out Winterport Open Stage on Facebook or send email to jerimisler@hotmail.com or wopenstage@aol.com.
