Marsh River Theater has received a $500 grant from the Maine Equity Initiative Fund of the Maine Community Foundation for the upcoming production of “Quilt, The Musical.” “Quilt” examines one 32-panel block of the AIDS quilt through song and story and is about change, losses and gains. It celebrates life in the face of death.

While “Quilt” based on real people and real situations, creative license has been used. The show will be performed Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Marsh River Theater, 24 Monroe Highway/Route 139; For more information, call 722-4110.

The Maine Community Foundation is a statewide nonprofit that since opening its doors in 1983 has awarded almost $150 million in grants and scholarships. The Maine Equity Initiative Fund supports projects with a vision of inclusive, diverse, prejudice-free communities for the LGBTQ population and for all people of Maine.
