Oscar H. Bryant, Jr., 56, died Dec. 30, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Hope Jan. 15, 1956, the son of Oscar and Winifred (Armstrong) Bryant Sr.

He attended Belfast High School, graduating in 1974. While still in school, he began working in the woods, which he continued to do right up to his death. He had a generous heart, almost too generous at times. He taught his children how to work hard and how to play even harder. He especially loved dogs, and leaves behind Chance. He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments and had many lifelong friends, including Alva Pollard, James Ames and James Sprague.

He was predeceased by his mother. He is survived by his father, Oscar Bryant Sr., of Searsmont; a son, Jeff Bryant, and his wife, Jessica Clark, of Searsmont; a daughter, Morgan, and her husband, Randy Clark, of Phoenix, Ariz.; his grandchildren, Sullivan Bryant and Aden Pike.

Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. There will be a celebration of Oscar’s life on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 1 p.m. at Liberty Community Center, Route 220.
