Richard Elmer Parker Sr. born Feb. 28, 1934, born to John B. Parker Sr. and Doris Parker stepped into eternity and into the arms of Jesus on Jan. 22, 2013.

Parker grew up in Belfast, and Graduated from Crosby High. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at the Navel Base in Kingsville, Texas. He met the love of his life, Maria de Jesus Herrera, and Married her in March 1955 and moved to San Antonio, Texas to raise a family.

Parker is survided by his five children, Linda Parker Romeo and husband Manuel, Diane Parker De La Rosa and husband David, Carol D. Parker Barrios and husband Jorge, Richard Elmer Parker Jr., and Thomas Joseph Parker and wife Cynthia, 13 grand children and 13 great grand children and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings John B. Parker Jr., Mary R. Gibbons, and Lucille Perkins, many nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.

Parker was a quiet and meek man who loved his family and did everything he could to always provide for them, keep them safe and protected. He believed in always treating people kindly and with respect. A man filled with laughter and love, his legacy has followed him in the lives of his children and his children’s children. He knew that when this time came it meant he would to be absent from his body and he would be present with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. As he spent his last days with his children he loved to hear them sing songs to him and read scriptures from the Bible. Parker lived a full and rich life.
