George Siscoe, a retired UCLA professor of atmospheric sciences, will present an illustrated talk titled Weather in Art — Blue Skies, Clouds and Rainbows Saturday, March 23, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Old Professor’s Bookshop, 99 Main St.
Speaker Siscoe will bring weather, a New England hallmark; and art, a Midcoast Maine hallmark, together in a presentation that shows how famous artists have taken weather as a subject to illustrate a story, set a mood, compose a landscape and, in one case, to show up a critic.
Refreshments will be served, and admission is free. For more information, call 338-2006.
