Two were charged with assault and a third person remains on the run this week after police responded to the report of a fight during a party at a Mt. Ephraim Road residence Sunday, April 7.

Searsport Police Chief Dick LaHaye said 24-year-old Amber Robbins and 30-year-old Jason Moulton, both of Searsport, were each summoned for assault following an altercation LaHaye said occurred just before 2 p.m.

LaHaye said Monday morning, April 8, police are still conducting interviews to find out what led up to the alleged confrontation, but stated Moulton and a second man got into an argument with a third male at the residence. Eventually Moulton and the unknown male subject allegedly assaulted the third man. LaHaye said Robbins was also involved in the assault, but police are still gathering information to determine the extent of her involvement in the alleged fight.

"We're still trying to sort that out," said LaHaye.

LaHaye said Moulton and the man who was with him at the time of the alleged assault fled the scene, and Searsport officers called Maine State Police Trooper Stephen Hills and his K9 to assist in the search for the two men. LaHaye said Hills located Moulton after a brief search, but that the second male escaped the scene.

In addition to Maine State Police, LaHaye said Belfast police and the Waldo County Sheriff's Office assisted with the efforts to locate Moulton and the man he was with during the alleged incident.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 548-2304.
