Three people were transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision on Northport Avenue.

The accident occurred at 1:08 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, when Malcolm H. Crockett, 95, of Rockport, was attempting to turn into the driveway of Cynthia Battel dentistry located at 189 Northport Avenue. While Crockett was attempting to turn, he failed to yield to Jean A. Brakewood, 81, of Lincolnville, who was driving south on Northport Avenue.

Brakewood's 2011 Chevrolet Malibu struck the passenger side of the 2011 Buick Lucerne, according to the accident report.

The Buick was pushed off the road into a drainage ditch with significant passenger side damage. Brakewood’s vehicle suffered heavy front-end damage as a result of the collision, the report says.

Emergency personnel used the Jaws of Life to remove Malcolm’s passenger, Priscilla Crockett, 88, from the vehicle.

At the time of the collision it was raining and the roads were wet.

Malcolm was taken to Waldo County General Hospital to be treated for cuts on his arms, according to the report. His passenger, Priscilla was taken to the hospital to be treated for possible broken bones in her legs, according to the report.

Brakewood was also taken to the hospital after complaining of pain throughout her body.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash and towed from the scene.
