Carmalita D. Caissie, 60 of Safety Harbor, Fla., passed away Sunday, April 7, at Brookside Hospice House in Palm Harbor, Fla., of pneumonia and complications of multiple sclerosis. She was born August 22, 1952, in Belfast to Selden C. Young and Julia D. Young. Carmalita was predeceased by her father, mother and younger sister Regina. Carmalita graduated with honors from Holliston, Mass., in 1970. She was employed as a secretary at Mass. Electric until stricken with M.S.

Survivors include her husband Donald Caissie of Safety Harbor; her daughters Marcia and Amanda Williams of Millbury, Mass., Bob and May Caissie of Oxford, Mass.; her sister Judy Otis and her husband Norman of Searsport; her niece Tara Harvey and her husband C.J. and their children Maggie and Jon Harvey of Canaan, Maine, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Grove Cemetery in Belfast with officiating. Those wishing to make donations in Carmalita’s name may do so to the National M.S.
