The following is a synopsis of the 2013 Mount View High Schoo softball team:

Coach/years coached current team: Mike Gagnon, 12th year.

Last year's record/playoff information: 0-16, 19th in Eastern Class B. The Mustangs did not qualify for the playoffs.

Roster: Seniors Abbie Charrier (outfield) and Alyss Crooker (infield, outfield); juniors Emily English (infield), Alex Fowler (pitcher), Shaniah Gilley, Siiri Pinkham and Caitlyn Poulin (outfield); sophomores Dinah Bilodeau (pitcher, infield), Kersey Boulay (catcher), Lyndsay Morong (infield) and Kayla Wilson (outfield); and freshmen Brittany Dugal (infield), Lazell Giggey, Alyssa McCormick (infield) and Krysta Porter (pitcher, infield, outfield).

Outlook: After a winless season in 2012, the only place the Mustangs can go this spring is up, and the Mustangs hope that means experiencing victories on the diamond. Mount View wil start three sophomores and two freshmen on the diamond and thus will be a little green early in the season, but the team has several athletic players and hopes to scrape together a few wins and, ultimately, have fun over the course of the 16-game regular schedule.

Gagnon said Porter, McCormick and Fowler played summer ball at the conclusion of last season and thus have more experience under their respective belts, which should be a positive for the young squad.
