A local woman was arrested on an operating under the influence charge early Friday morning, April 26, after clerks at a Winterport convenience store reported she was "slumped over the wheel" of her vehicle at the gas pumps.

Waldo County Chief Deputy Jeff Trafton said the responding officer later identified the driver as Jennifer Rogers, 36, of Bucksport, who caught the attention of store employees at a business on North Main Street after she stopped there to get gas just before 6 a.m.

"The clerk said she looked very tired or impaired as she was pumping gas," said Trafton. "They went and checked on her, and she was slumped over the wheel."

By the time an officer arrived at the convenience store Rogers had left in her vehicle, but, Trafton said, the officer found her a short distance away. Rogers was arrested and taken to Waldo County Jail.
