Maine-based hip-hop emcee Spose will perform Thursday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. at the Unity College Center for Performing Arts, 42 Depot St. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door and free with Unity College student ID.

Spose has been making music since age 9 and rhyming since he was 14. Since the release of his debut album "Preposterously Dank" in 2008 on his own imprint, Spose has seen his musical endeavors reach new heights. In 2009, he released a mixtape with fellow emcee Cam Groves, and a track off that mixtape, produced by Spose himself, garnered him his first major label recording contract with Universal Republic Records.

Spose used the opportunity to build his own company, the Preposterously Dank Entertainment label based in Wells. He has since left Universal and released his independent album "The Audacity!", which peaked at No. 6 on the iTunes hip-hop albums chart. Spose has performed with international acts including Drake, J. Cole, B.o.B., Wiz Khalifa, Ke$ha, Weezer, Stone Temple Pilots, Cage the Elephant, Mike Posner and Kardinal Offishal. He also has performed with the cream of the underground hip-hop crop including 7L & Esoteric, Brother Ali, Sean Price, Ill Bill, Kool Keith, Mac Lethal and more.

Spose’s most recent recording is this year’s “The Peter Sparker Mixtape” and includes the single “The King of Maine.”
