The following is a synopsis of the 2013 Mount View High School boys soccer team:

Coach/years coached current team: Chris Hink, 10th year.

Last year's record/playoff information: 9-4-1, ninth in Eastern Class B. The Mustangs fell to No. 8 Belfast 3-0 in a preliminary playoff game.

Roster: Seniors Andrew Cloutier, Silas Fox, Vittorio Frascolino, Bryan Jungels, Dustin Reynolds, Jack Simpson and Chris Taylor; James Blanchette, David Clark, Kyle Crowell, Donovan Desrosiers, Brody Gibbs, Daniel Heard, Avery Leclerc, John Piotti and Nathan Wren; sophomores Mikey Hustus and Gavin Simpson; and freshmen Joseph Danna, Brandon Reynolds and Emmett Shell.

Known graduation losses: Lorenzo Milani, James Philbrick, Trevor Diemer, Josh Savoy, Kyle Turner and Evan Lanphere.

Significant impact players: Frascolino, Jungels, Wren and Hustus. Frascolino is an Italian exchange student.

Team strengths: Numbers, “youthful enthusiasm mixed with a veteran crew.”

Team goal: To make the Eastern Class B playoffs.

Top league opponents: Maranacook of Readfield, Camden Hills, Winslow, Oceanside of Thomaston/Rockland, Waterville and Erskine Academy of South China.

Outlook: The Mustangs typically are one of the hardest-working teams in Eastern Class B and that is unlikely to change this season. Fransolino will give Mount View a boost at the striker position, while a strong nucleus of veteran players likely will lead the Mustangs this year.
