Belfast peewee football teams played under the lights Oct. 2 at Belfast Area High School.

That night, the Dolphins beat the Vikings 18-8. The 20-minute second quarter for the younger players saw Dolphin quarterback Tommy Walker score two touchdowns for 12 points. In the third quarter, Dolphin quarterback Jack Hansen scored the final touchdown for his team and Viking quarterback Dylan Abbott handed off to Elliot Anderson, who ran 30 yards for a touchdown and also rushed for the two-point conversion. Anderson played a tough defensive game with four quarterback sacks.

On Oct. 6, the Vikings defeated the Chiefs 32-0 at Troy Howard Middle School. In the first quarter, Viking Grady Doolan had a 35-yard touchdown run, while Dylan Abbott added the two-point conversion. In the second quarter for the younger players, Vikings Levi Farrell, Bobby Banks and Sam Dakin took turns carrying the ball but got stopped at the 5-yard line. Time ran out before Chiefs could score. In the third quarter, Viking Doolan scored on a 25-yard run. Later in the quarter, Viking Elliot Anderson had a 20-yard touchdown run. In the fourth stanza, Viking quarterback Abbott passed to Doolan for a 60-yard gain to the 5-yard line before Isaac Bernosky scored the TD. The extra-point attempt by Devindale Reynolds failed. In the final two minutes, Viking Dylan Abbott intercepted a pass and turned it into a 40-yard score.

The next games will be Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m., with the Dolphins versus the Chiefs; and on Monday, Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. (younger players only), with the Vikings versus Chiefs. Both games will be at THMS.
