Frances Mary (Hatch) Armington, 87, died September 14, 2013, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She was born in Boston August 25, 1926, daughter of Clarence W. and Margaret M. (Wagstaff) Hatch. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Allan L. Armington and by her children and grandchildren. She taught elementary school in Massachusetts and Oregon before moving to Maine, where she taught in Belfast for many years. In Belfast, she was on the school board and the board of the public library, and was once named citizen of the year. She was also a professional craftsman, working primarily in silver, and was chair of the United Maine Craftsmen. Frances and her husband Allan moved to Fitchburg in 1993, where she taught English as a Second Language courses and was active in many community groups and the Unitarian Universalist Church.
