The Waldo County YMCA hosted the annual Child Shall Lead Road Race Sept. 29.

Whitecap Builders has sponsored the race for more than 10 years and Sharon and Larry Jones of Whitecap Builders were on hand to challenge parents to run or walk the one-mile distance with their child. All youth who participated were awarded a medal and t-shirt.

The age division runners and their times were;

7-and-younger boys: Pete Lovejoy, 8:02; Cole Castro, 8:13; Gabe Hatfield, 8:14; Josiah Howard, 8:33; Cole Clark, 9:21; Andrew Velazquez, 9:30; Leo Lundry, 9:55; and John Lakin, 20:03.

8-9 boys: Jonah Lovejoy, 6:45; Eliash Howard, 7:40; Ryan Ordelt, 7:53; and Donovan Aldus, 9:40.

10-11 boys: Ethan Porter, 7:14; Brandon Cournoyer, 8:15; Drake Westover, 12:23; and Nick Kelley, 16:29.
