Lincolnville town staff will host an open house at the newly renovated Town Office Nov. 9.

The open house will take place at 10 a.m. at 493 Hope Road, prior to the move from the Town Office temporary location.

Town Office operations, housed at the fire station on Camden Road since April, will return to Hope Road as of Nov. 19, said Town Administrator David Kinney. The Town Office will be closed Nov. 15 and Nov. 18 during the location transition.

The project broke ground April 29 and has remained on time and on budget; as of Oct. 24, the work was almost complete. The Penobscot Co. of Rockport carried out the renovations at a cost of $539,552.

An addition to the original Town Office houses a lobby, a room for town maps, a conference room, a meeting room, restrooms and storage. Renovations inside the original Town Office have been reworked into office space, storage and additional work space for staff.

Kinney said the meeting room will be connected to Lincolnville's local access cable channel for broadcast of meetings. K2 of Camden is designing the sound system and Seascoast Security of Rockport is installing the video system, he said.

When visitors enter the lobby, they will find a reception desk on their left with two stations where they can conduct business.

Funding for the renovations was approved by Lincolnville voters in November 2012 after several failed attempts to capture voter support for a town office upgrade during the past decade. The building also has been brought into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act with the renovations.

The Town Office phone number remains the same at 763-3555.
