Traffic at the intersection of Back Searsport Road and Swan Lake Avenue was moving a little slower at about 2 p.m. Friday afternoon as police assisted the driver of a dump truck that appeared to have damage to its undercarriage.

Belfast Detective Sgt. Bryan Cunningham said the truck had recently undergone some modifications that involved the plates that hold the dump body of the truck to the cab. Cunningham said it appeared that the work was completed properly, but for some reason the weld broke and left the truck immobile as the driver was pulling off Back Searsport Road onto Swan Lake Avenue.

Cunningham said no other vehicles were involved in the incident, and the truck driver was not injured.
