In addition to the statewide questions, the School Union 69 towns of Appleton, Hope and Lincolnville each voted on an amended school budget Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Two of the towns, Hope and Lincolnville, amended their school budgets to use state funds to cover teacher retirement costs the state shifted to school districts last year. Appleton amended its budget primarily because of an error in the budget that was approved last June.

In Hope, there were 181 votes in support of the school budget, and 52 against.

Voters in Lincolnville favored the amended school budget by a margin of 259 to 90.

Appleton voters approved an amended budget there with 156 in favor and 60 opposed.
