Robert L. Simpson, 83, of North Syracuse, N.Y., passed peacefully on Nov. 3 after a short illness. Bob held a commercial pilot’s license and enjoyed camping, traveling, and time with his extended families. Bob was the oldest son of Albert and Gertrude Simpson. After retiring from Township Telephone Co. in 1990, he and his wife Julianna split time between Chaumont and Holiday, Fla, eventually settling in North Syracuse, N.Y. in 2011 to be near family.

Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Julianna; brother Richard of Dexter; sister Gertrude (Smith) of Foxboro, Mass.; son Michael of Bath, Maine; three daughters, Vicki (Jim) O’Leary of Windham, Maine, Tamara of Derry, N.H.; Kelley (Erik) Anderson of North Syracuse, N.Y.; two step-children, John F. Weeks of Colonial Heights, Va. and Dedra Brown of Cicero, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Sha-ca.
