The Busline League middle school basketball seasons are off to a torrid start with many teams in action in the early part of the regular season.

The following is a recap of recently-reported results:

Girls basketball

Oceanside Blue 8th 65, Medomak 32

At Thomaston Nov. 18, the Mariners dug themselves out of a first-quarter hole and surged to victory over the visitors. Oceanside led 20-8, 33-18 and 47-24 at the quarter breaks.

Gabby Simmons scored 20 points to lead Oceanside, while Jordan Brackett added 12; Makenzie Murray, 10; Casey Pine, Emily Clough and Aubrey Anderson, all six; Taylor Hamlin, four; and Kyleigh Farnham and Cassidy Boynton, both two.

For Medomak, Hallie Kunesh netted 11 points, while Gabby DePatsy added eight; Cierra Dyer, seven; Katie York, four; and Haley Wyllie, two.

The Mariners were 12-of-29 (41 percent) at the foul line, while the Riverhawks were 12-of-25 (48 percent).

Oceanside Blue 7th 34, Medomak 30

At Waldoboro Nov. 18, the Mariners bested the Riverhawks in a tightly-contested game.

Leading Oceanside were Brooke Post (8 points), Kassidy Robinson (6 points), Gabrielle Straka (6 points), Aannaliese Poisson (6 points), Raechel Joyce (4 points), Kaycee Foster (2 points) and Rivers Boland (2 points).

For Medomak, Lydia Simmons (13 points), Maddy White (8 points), Serena Poland (2 points), McKenzie Bickmore (2 points), Hattie Watmough (2 points), Shannon Johnson (2 points) and Chelsea Field (point) led the offense.

Hope 40, Lincolnville 30

At Lincolnville Nov. 18, the Hawks soared to a 10-point win over the Lynx. Hope led 8-2, 19-12 and 35-16 at the quarter breaks.

Nicole Brown scored 14 points for the winners, while Laticia Billings added 13; Kira Barley, nine; and Sydney Moody, four.

Mya Wiley netted nine points for Lincolnville, while Izzy Lang added eight; Sydney Lytton, seven; Christina Kelly, four; and Brinley Harrison, two.

Boys basketball

Medomak 8th 52, Oceanside Blue 37

At Thomaston Nov. 18, the Riverhawks picked up their first win of the season over the winless Mariners. Oceanside led 13-10 after the first quarter, but Medomak took a 21-18 cushion at halftime and a 37-27 edge after three quarters.

Andrew Campbell, Brent Stewart, Wyatt Post and Jensen Willis led the balanced Medomak attack with eight points each, while Ben Dever added six; Josh Goldrup, five; Bryce Collamore, three; and Antonio Secareccio, Jonathan Luke and Colin Fouriner, all two.

For Oceanside, Mike Norton pumped in 22 points, while Trevor Carty added four; Logan Sheridan, three; Garrett Young, Zach Porter, Kirt Ilvonen and Josh Peaco, all two; and Garrett Young, one.

The Riverhawks were 19-of-37 (51 percent) from the foul line, while the Mariners were 7-of-13 (54 percent).

Oceanside Blue 7th 47, Medomak 37

At Waldoboro Nov. 18, the Mariners secured a 10-point win over the hosts. The Riverhawks were down 11 points at halftime and rallied to tie the game after three quarters, but the Mariners sailed to victory in the fourth.

Leading the visitors were Jack Lombardo with 22 points, while Trevor Reed tallied 12.

For Medomak, Nathan Emerson (9 points), Alex Clevette (8 points), Nick Daniel (6 points), Eli McCollett (5 points), Chris Bowman (3 points), Alec Coughlin (3 points), Greyson Clark (2 points) and Alden McLain (point) paced the offense.

Bristol 42, Oceanside White 8th 36

At Bristol Nov. 18, the Blue Devils held on for a six-point win over the Mariners. Bristol led 15-13, 27-18 and 35-23 at the quarter breaks.

Hunter Davis scored 17 points for the visitors, while John Curtin added eight; Jack Freeman, six; Ruben Martinez, three; and Anthony Moore, two.

Oceanside netted 7-of-17 (41 percent) free-throw attempts, while Bristol converted 23-of-24 (50 percent).

Full names for Bristol players were unavailable.

Troy Howard 8th 41, Searsport 28

At Belfast Nov. 18, the Lions roared to a 13-point win over the Vikings. Troy Howard led 7-6, 19-12 and 33-18 at the quarter breaks.

Stan Sturgis poured in 20 points for the hosts, while Tyler Bartlett added seven; Aaron Fuller, four; and Skyler Perkins and Sam Goguen, both two.

For Searsport, Liam MacMillan netted 15 points, while Ben Powell and Devon Dean each added five; Harold Merithew, three; and Connor Kneeland, two.

The Vikings shot 27 percent from the foul line and the Lions 25 percent.
