Two vehicles traveling West on Route 3 in Belfast near the intersection with Crocker Road collided early Wednesday morning, Nov. 27.

Twenty-year-old Samantha Randall attempted to make a U-turn and was struck by another vehicle driven by Roy Carter, 41. Randall was transported from the scene by ambulance and ticketed for turning without an appropriate signal.

Belfast Police Chief Mike McFadden said the two vehicles sustained significant damage, both deploying their air bags.

Belfast Police, Fire and Ambulance responded around 8:50 a.m. The police report does not indicate whether there were additional passengers in either vehicle.

Traffic was slowed around the crash, in which one vehicle was left disabled in the center of Route 3.
