Top league opponents: “Our league is tough,” said Benzie of the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference's Class B division. “On any given night anyone can come away with a win.”

Outlook: The Lions lost Rice, their top scorer, to graduation. Benzie said who will step up and fill that void remains to be seen.

“Each player has a role,” the coach said. “If we all do our jobs and work as a unit, we can be in the mix [for a regional playoff spot].”
