In retrospect, Emily Tripp, 16, of Frankfort had much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day as enjoyed the holiday doing what she loves — namely, hunting for deer with her dad, Mike. Tripp realized outdoors success that day as she shot a 12-point, 208-pound buck while hunting with her father, Mike, on Nov. 26 in Frankfort. Tripp, a Hampden Academy junior and student-athlete (she competes in track and field), hunts turkey, partridge, bear, deer and moose. She got the grand slam in hunting last year, which is deer, moose, turkey and bear in one season. The youngster also likes to open water and ice fish. This was the second — and largest — deer Tripp has shot in her hunting career. She also is the daughter of Lisa Tripp.
