Ian Curran, 83, passed away Jan. 1, 2014 in Bangor. He was born in Scotland May 4, 1930 to George and Sarah (Goldie) Curran. He enjoyed working in New York at Cambridge Instruments but also enjoyed his retirement in Maine. During his retirement, he traveled to Africa twice. Ian played the bagpipes, performing in parades with a bagpiper band.

Ian is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joyce Curran ; his son Joseph Kaminski and wife Fran of Unity; siblings Heather, Sabrina and Alexander; and three grandchildren. Special thanks go to Bill Whitney for his kind support.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
