Guy W. Work, 92, of Interlachen, Fla., passed away Jan. 2 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka, Fla. He was born in Monroe on March 4, 1921. Guy is survived by his wife Ella of 73 years of marriage; his children; Gary Work and wife Glendine, of Dayton, Maine, Calvin Work and Terri, of Macclenny, Fla., Jane Booth and husband Howard of Interlachen, Fla.; grandchildren Lisa (Mike) Dow, Jennifer Work, Keith (Cindy) Work, Michael Work, Kristina (Randy) Crews, Melinda Phillips, Hazel Booth and eight great-grandchildren.

Guy served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany. He retired with 30 years of truck driving with Fox & Ginn Trucking Company out of Bangor. Guy was a former member of the Odd Fellows of Monroe and served as a Selectman for the Town of Monroe. Guy loved to hunt and he and Ella spent many years camping and fishing.

In lieu of flowers, family members request donations be made to Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, Fla., 32177.

Burial will be at a later date at Kinney Cemetery in Brooks.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Interlachen, Fla.
