The Knox County Fish & Game Association's annual ice-fishing derby will be Sunday, Feb. 9 at Beaver Lodge on Alford Lake.

Registration for fish begins at noon and ends promptly at 5 p.m. Any freshwater fish caught within a 50-mile radius of the lodge needs a ticket to register and must be in the door on Feb. 9 by 5 p.m.

Fish, of course, do not have to be caught just on Alford Lake. That is simply the location of the lodge.

Hot food and drinks will be sold by the KCF&G kitchen crew. Prizes for the top three fish will be awarded to adults and trophies for children, There will be more than $1,500 in raffle prizes, including a $50, $75 and $100 cash prizes donated by Chris Packard and Chuck Farmer, a $50 gift certificate to Hammond Tractor in Union, as well as several other prizes donated by local businesses.

Tickets are available at Pushaw's Trading Post in South Hope, Chuck Farmer's Bait Shop in Union and Johnson's Sporting Goods in Rockland.
