Dippity Sticks

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons orange juice

7 ounces marshmallow creme


Mix ingredients well and serve with fruit.


Pasghetti Pizza

16 ounces uncooked spaghetti

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

4 cups shredded mozzarella, divided

3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

32 ounces spaghetti sauce

salt to taste

1 pound ground beef, browned and drained

1 1/2 teaspoons oregano

1 package sliced pepperoni


Break spaghetti into 2-inch pieces. Cook and drain. In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, 1 cup of cheese, garlic powder and salt. Add spaghetti and stir. Spread mixture into greased 10-by-15-inch jelly roll pan. Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Spread ground beef over spaghetti and sprinkle with oregano. Spread spaghetti sauce over this, then put on the sliced pepperoni. Top with remaining cheese. Lower temperature to 350 degrees and bake 20 minutes until bubbly and browned. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.

Wood Stove Stew (this recipe is from Alaska)

10 ounces beef broth (or water or beer)

28 ounces whole or stewed tomatoes

1 1/2 pounds trimmed moose meat roast, cut into 1-inch chunks (yes, beef will work too)

1 onion, chopped

4 carrots, peeled and cut into large chunks

1 medium potato, cut into bite-size pieces

2 stalks celery, cut into bite-size pieces

1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons parsley

1 bay leaf

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons quick cooking tapioca to thicken ( or you can stir in 2 tablespoons flour into the beef broth)


Put all the ingredients into a dutch oven in the order given, put the lid on and set on the hottest part of the stove and let simmer for 6 hours or until you get the wood chopped!


Ham Loaf

1 pound ground smoked ham

1 pound ground pork

3 cups bread crumbs

1 cup milk

1/8 teaspoon pepper

2 eggs, beaten


Combine all ingredients, form into loaf and place in loaf pan. Baste ham loaf with basting sauce (see below) before, and 2 to 3 times during, baking. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.


Basting Sauce

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup hot water

1 1/2 tablespoons mustard

2 1/2 tablespoons vinegar


Combine all ingredients until brown sugar is dissolved. For use with Ham Loaf recipe above.


Cherries in the snow

3 ounces cream cheese

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 pint cream

graham cracker crust

1 can cherry pie filling


Blend cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whip the cream. Mix whipped cream into cream cheese mixture. Pour into graham cracker crust. Top with cherry pie filling and chill overnight.
