With the 2013-14 National Football League season officially in the books, so too is Courier Publications' 15th annual edition of Pigskin Pundits, where the Courier Publications' sports team, along with owner Reade Brower, match wits against a weekly guest picker for bragging rights.

Brower, along with sports editor Ken Waltz and associate sports director Mark Haskell, picked games throughout the regular season and the playoffs, while the weekly guest picker with the best individual record through the regular season was invited to pick though the postseason along with Brower, Waltz and Haskell.

Waltz proved to be the top overall picker on the season, edging the weekly guest picker, represented throughout the playoffs by Mount View football coach Harold "Haggie" Pratt.

This year's edition proved to be the most competitive in recent memory, with the Super Bowl breaking a tie between Waltz and Pratt.

Waltz finished with an overall record of 171-95-1 for the season and a 9-2 mark in the playoffs, including guessing Seattle correctly in the Super Bowl.

The weekly guests, thanks to Pratt, also finished with a 171-95-1 record for the season and a 9-2 record in the playoffs, but Pratt chose Denver to win the Super Bowl, thus giving the narrow edge to Waltz for the overall Pigskin Pundit crown.

Brower, the regular-season winner, finished with a 169-97-1 record for the season and a 3-8 mark in the playoffs, including guessing Denver incorrectly in the Super Bowl.

Haskell finished with a 168-98-1 record for the season and an 8-3 record in the playoffs, including guessing Seattle correctly in the Super Bowl. Haskell's guess of the Seahawks winning 27-17 over the Broncos was the closest of the four guesses.

This season, Brian O'Neil of Hope (8-8) picked in Week 1, Luke Knight of Thomaston (12-4) in Week 2, Charlie Bickford of Belfast (9-7) in Week 3, Monica Karam of Thomaston (10-4) in Week 4, Tyler Patterson of Owls Head (9-6) in Week 5, Ron Belyea of Sarasota, Fla. (6-9) in Week 7, Harold “Haggie” Pratt of Mount View High School (12-1) in Week 8, Jesse Brower of Boston, Mass.
