The Mount View High school boys junior varsity basketball team had a less-than-memorable season on the hardwood record-wise, though the student-athletes earned valuable game experience throughout the campaign.

Led by coach Chris Bryant, the Mustangs sported a 2-14 record on the season.

Team members included Kevin Richards, Colby Furrow, Kalvin Croteau, Devon Davis, Colton Medina, Gavin Simpson, Cole Hannan, Tyler Ripley, Joey Danna, Justin Lizotte and Devon Davis.

The Mustangs scored 690 points on the year and allowed 889. They won 22 quarters, lost 38 and tied in five, and committed 298 fouls on the year to 222 for their opponents.

Mount View posted wins against Belfast and Erskine Academy of South China and held a halftime lead against every team they played other than Camden Hills and Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

Statistical leaders for Mount View were Simpson (9.36 points per game, 3.82 rebounds per game, 1.45 assists per game and 2.18 steals per game), Ripley (8 ppg, 4.45 rpg, 0.36 apg and 0.36 spg), Danna (7.25 ppg, 1.81 rpg, 1.31 apg and 1.44 spg), Lizotte (5.19 ppg, 2.81 rpg, 1.25 apg and 1.06 spg), Davis (5.06 ppg, 2.69 rpg, 1.13 apg and 1.75 spg), Furrow (3.88 ppg, 1.19 rpg, 0.75 apg and 1.06 spg), Hannan (2.56 ppg, 3.31 rpg, 0.88 apg and 1.06 spg), Croteau (2 ppg, 2.13 rpg, 0.69 apg and 0.81 spg), Medina (1.38 ppg, 1.13 rpg and 0.06 spg) and Richards (0.50 ppg, 0.56 rpg and 0.13 apg).

Other student-athletes played on the team but did not finish the season, the coach said.
