Several members of the Mid-Coast Cal Ripken Baseball League will have the opportunity on Saturday, April 5 to compete in the championships of the Sluggers' Youth Baseball Winter League.

Both the U10 and U12 teams from the Belfast area will compete in its respective championship games. The U10 team, which sports a 9-3-2 record this winter, will play in the championship game at noon against Bradford.

The U12 team, which sports an unblemished 7-0 mark, will play in the 4:30 p.m championship game against Winterport.

Team members for the U10 team include Chris Fournier, Connor Fournier, Colby Benjamin, Joe Baker, Brandon Cournoyer, Sawyer Carson, Riley Woodbury, Matthew LeBlanc, Eamon Goscinski, Jason Bartlett, and Zepherin Leppanen.

Team members for the U12 team include Luke Hamlin, Dakota Payson, Caleb Hall-Arnett, Noah Jacobs, Ryder Wagenknecht, Jason Bartlett, Isaac Cunningham, Zepharin Leppanen, Tommy Walker, Eamon Goscinski.

Leppanen, Goscinski and Bartlett play on both squads.

Games are played indoors at the Sluggers Indoor Baseball/Softball Training Facility in Brewer.

League sign-ups

Registration for the Mid-Coast Cal Ripken League also is underway.

Sign-ups and tryouts will be Sunday, April 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Belfast Area High School. The league is open to boys and girls ages 6-12 who reside in Belfast, Northport, Swanville, Brooks, Jackson, Waldo, Morrill, Belmont, Searsmont, Liberty, Searsport and Lincolnville.

Sign-ups and tryouts also were held March 30 at BAHS.
