A Stockton Springs man is facing a slew of charges after being involved in a domestic violence incident April 15.

Douglas Scott Beckerleg, 51, was charged with domestic violence assault, disorderly conduct and assault on an officer, Lt. Jason Trundy of the Waldo County Sheriff's Office said.

Officers responded to a 911 hang up call in Stockton Springs and when they arrived, they discovered Beckerleg had a cut on his forearm. While speaking to Beckerleg and trying to convince him to seek medical attention for the cut, Beckerleg refused to cooperate and was arrested, Trundy said.

After Beckerleg was taken from the residence, the victim described a domestic assault situation to officers, Trundy said. Trundy said Beckerleg suffered the cut to his forearm during the assault on the victim.

Once Beckerleg arrived at the jail, an officer was explaining the charges against him when Beckerleg became upset and threw the officer's ticket book at his chest, Trundy said. That resulted in Beckerleg earning the additional charge of assault on an officer.
