Brutally cold early-spring weather, that included wind chills in the high-30s, rain and even a snow squall, did not keep the host Mount View and Belfast softball teams from swinging hot bats in a season-opening game Thursday afternoon, April 24 on Larrabee Field.

In a high school diamond game played in blustery, difficult weather conditions, the Mustangs and Lions pounded the ball around the field and players raced around the bases with regularity.
